July 15 2022 The Colorado Springs SnowSox defeated the Austin Weirdos 14-6 after scoring 12 runs over the fifth and sixth innings. Colorado Springs finished with 15 hits and one error, while Austin collected 10 hits and played errorless baseball.
Austin took an early 4-1 lead with two runs in each of the first two innings. The SnowSox answered with a nine-run fifth inning to move in front and added three more runs in the sixth. Austin scored twice in the seventh, but Colorado Springs held on for the eight-run victory.
Glenn Fletcher went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and scored twice for Colorado Springs, while Carlo Francisco and Robb Paller each had three hits. Rory Graf-Brennen also collected three hits and drove in a run. B. Winkelmann added two hits, including a double and a triple, with two RBIs. For Austin, Christian Jones had two hits, three walks and one RBI, and J. Cardenas drove in two runs.
Fletcher earned the win after allowing eight hits and six runs, five earned, in 6.1 innings. He struck out nine and walked seven. Justin Torres finished with 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out one. Alex Bolton took the loss for Austin after surrendering eight runs in 4.1 innings, and Ethan ORiley allowed six runs in 1.1 innings.
